How Do I Separate Fear From Intuition?
Fear comes from previous information. If you have never seen a snake, you are not going to respond to it as a snake. I saw a video recently of a child who came home with a snake and said to their mum, “big noodle”. That is because it is something they have never really seen before.
Where Fear Comes From
When it comes to fear, it is either a fear that came from you as a result of your experience, a fear that came as a result of listening to someone else’s experience, or a fear that came as a result of information you consumed. There is always an information that sponsors the fear.
What Intuition Is
Intuition, on the other hand, is when you have never seen this thing, you have never heard it, but it feels like it has a connotation. So when people say, “Oh, someone is an abuser,” the person has not touched them, but there is just a sense of something about this person that does not make them feel good, that does not make them feel safe.
How Intuition Reveals Itself Over Time
Then months down the line, you are hearing that this person was a serial abuser, etc. Intuition shows up as a feeling without prior information, yet it points to something meaningful.
